📄 PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Grayns Rice Cooker is the world's first appliance engineered to automatically reduce unhealthy sugars and starches from rice by up to 40%. Its patented four-stage cooking process — Thermosense Heating, Debond RDS, Transude Water, and Demoisturize — gelatinises the rice, forces Rapidly Digested Starch out of the grains, drains the starch-heavy liquid, then steams the rice to a low-GI, fluffy finish. The result is rice that is healthier for diabetics, weight management, and post-meal energy levels.
🔧 DESIGN BACKGROUND
Client had previously developed the controller PCB in-house but encountered serious performance issues caused by poor PCB layout resulting in noise and instability. They approached Jaavin to review and redesign the board. Jaavin identified the root-cause layout problems, then delivered a comprehensively improved design with correct EMC-compliant routing, added circuit protection and ESD measures, and applied Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles throughout. Satisfied with the results, Grayns appointed Jaavin as their OEM partner to manufacture and supply the PCBA. The product successfully passed both SIRIM (Malaysia) and CCC (China) certification by CQC. Jaavin also developed a dedicated production test jig to ensure every board was fully verified before dispatch. Total production volume reached 5,000 units.
